OpenEAC Alliance Charter

The OpenEAC Alliance is dedicated to developing and maintaining open-source, transparent, and scientifically rigorous methodologies for evaluating the impact of distributed energy resources (DER). Our mission is to support the creation and verification of Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs) that accurately reflect DER projects' environmental and social benefits. We foster collaboration among industry stakeholders, ensuring our standards are inclusive, adaptable, and aligned with global best practices.

Guided by principles of transparency, inclusiveness, and accountability, the OpenEAC Alliance seeks to establish a robust governance framework that prioritizes the integrity of our methodologies while promoting innovation and flexibility. Our governance includes a Steering Committee responsible for strategic oversight, diverse working groups for developing specific methods, and an Advisory Board composed of experts from various sectors. These structures ensure that our methods are well-rounded, scientifically sound, and responsive to industry needs.

The OpenEAC Alliance is committed to continuous improvement and global applicability. We support registries and other organizations implementing our certified methods, ensuring they remain relevant and practical across different geographic regions and regulatory environments. By maintaining an open-source platform for method development and encouraging broad participation, we aim to drive the adoption of high-quality EACs, contributing to the broader sustainability and energy transition goals.
